We hosted a fun and informative IG Live last night with the foot guru Erica Weiland. She is a certified reflexologist and founder of the Reflexology Experience. We had a blast discussing all things feets and she shared some seriously precious gems. This is a recap of our Live since we experience technical difficulties posting the playback.
Ok, here are the biggest takeaway points to last's night IG Live.
NIGHTLY FOOT MASSAGES
Make sure to really focus on your big toe when giving yourself a nightly foot massage, because your big toe is where the head, brain, and upper cervical spine and other parts of your body come together.
COLD FEET MEAN...
This one was pretty popular and shocking, which is cold feet are typically connected to insomnia. Try warming your feet prior to your bedtime to allow for a restful sleep.
VIEWER'S QUESTION ABOUT CHARLIE HORSES
One of our viewer's asked about charlie horses in the arch and was it due to hydration. Erica's expertise is astounding, she instantly stated it could be due to dehydration, but keep in mind it could be inflammation in the gut (digestive system) or issues with the reproductive system. <Insert my mouth dropping here>
DETOX IONIC BATHS
We briefly touched on ionic detox foot baths where Erica and I both agree they are must haves in our lives. She touched on how porous our feet are and how the vibration of the foot soak alone is healing and beneficial to our bodies due to mineral absorption. I concluded to explain that toxins don't come out of your feet, but are processed through your kidneys and liver. Don't worry we are going to discuss this topic again.
HYDRATION IS KEY
Our customer's number one complaint is dry skin on their feet, cracked heels, dry cuticles. Erica discussed that hydration needs to occur internally and externally to combat these types of feet issues.
A COUPLE OF COOL FEET FACTS
Did you know that if you can separate your pinky toe from your foot that means you are adventurous? Well, now you do.
Did you know if your second toe is longer than your big toe that means you are a natural born leader? Well, Erica shared some gems about characteristics of this type of foot.
Be sure to follow both @reflexologyexperience and us at naturally.london on Instagram, so you won't miss out on the next Live. We have invited Erica back for us to do another one, because time went by way too fast.
